C-LEAD, Italy 2026

Between 31 August and 6 September 2026, Together Romania participated with two youth workers in the Erasmus+ project “C-LEAD – Community-driven Learning, Education, and Design for youth workers”, a training course hosted in Alatri, Italy. The project was coordinated by KLAP APS and brought together 18 youth workers from 9 countries: Italy, Spain, Hungary, Portugal, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The C-LEAD project focused on strengthening the competences of youth workers in community-based learning, non-formal education, participatory design, mentoring and facilitation. A central aim was to help participants develop educational activities that are more inclusive, accessible and connected to the real needs of local communities, with particular attention to young people with fewer opportunities.

During the training, participants from different countries had the opportunity to exchange experiences, share good practices and explore new approaches to youth work. The project encouraged a practical and participatory learning process, combining experiential learning, co-design, reflection and community-based methods. Participants also contributed to the development of tools and methodologies that will be included in the C-LEAD Toolbox, with the aim of supporting youth workers beyond the mobility itself.

For Together Romania, taking part in C-LEAD was an important opportunity for professional development, international exchange and strengthening cooperation with European partner organisations. The knowledge, methods and experiences gained during the training can be transferred into the organisation’s future activities and used in working with young people through more participatory and inclusive approaches.

The project also highlighted the importance of transforming learning gained through international mobility into local follow-up actions and dissemination activities. In this way, the experience of the two Together Romania participants can contribute not only to their own professional development, but also to the wider work of the organisation and the young people and communities it supports.

Through its participation in C-LEAD, Together Romania continues to invest in the development of its youth workers, promote non-formal education and inclusion, and strengthen its involvement in European cooperation projects focused on meaningful youth participation and community development.
