AWARE, training course in Spain
.
“The project AWARE Social inclusion of young offenders took place in Caravaca, Spain, between 9 and 16 March 2012. There were 8 countries involved and 20 participants.
The accommodation was in a big house, at the countryside, which was donated to host organization by a family. We all lived like a big family, cooked our food and washed our dishes. In order to make the stay pleasant, we had to respect others and their privacy. At cooking we had help from Maria, the best cooker I’ve ever seen. The food was fresh, healthy and we had delicious deserts.
Dealing with emotions is sometimes tricky but our trainers Diego and Yosem showed that even the shyest person sometimes feel the need to share with the group. This training was a life lesson and a useful guide for social workers. At the beginning we connect with our past, then with our present life and ended by understanding others and creating a bound with them. Every person was encouraged to freely express their thoughts and ideas. There was no right or wrong answer to the question “how do you feel?” witch was Yosem’s every day question.
I want to thank Alex and Together Romania for offering me the chance to participate in the training Aware.”
