Creative reporters for inclusion!, Albania 2011
The training Creative Reporters for Inclusion took place in Durres, Albania from 8-15 January 2011 and host participants from these countries: Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Macedonia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Portugal. This training course aims at bringing together youth workers, youth leaders and volunteers from SEE and EU, who are willing and able to use their existing skills and acquiring new ones in reporting youth activities using different media tools. During the training the participants has the possibility to get new skills and knowledge how they can write an article and adapt it to the needs of the audience/readers as well as be realistic in what they will report. The 7 days training will provide them with tips how to write, structure an article or a press release, what are the steps they should follow, and how to publish it in different websites or blog pages. The training encouraged the participation of youngsters socially disadvantaged and with fewer opportunities to participate actively and give them a chance to be included and rise up their voice through using the freedom of speech through youth work.
The training was delivered from professional trainers and facilitators that will be selected with an open call. The use of non-formal methods and learning by doing approach shall be the leading base of the weekly program. The activities shall be a combination of different sessions, workshops, simulations, brainstorming, group work etc. In order to foster the active participation of each individual and promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and sense of initiative among youth in the two areas of SEE and EU.
OBJECTIVES:
– To nurture individual youth participation through social inclusion
– Promote the use of mass media as social inclusion tool
– Equip the participants with basic skills of article writing and editing.
– Teach how to report with effectiveness and creativity the in youth work
– To experiment using new media tools to raise youth voices, calling for change in their communities.
– Create a blog of the new reporters
– Foster new partnerships among interested youth workers of SEE and EU
– Promote Youth in Action as a tool that encourages participation of youngsters socially disadvantaged
