Young European Volunteers, Poland

The project “Young European Volunteers”, held in Gorki Wielkie, Poland , brought together young people from Romania ,
Italy and Poland . Its main purpose was to reach to a common meaning and value of the “voluntary” concept and learn about the similarities and differences in regulation in these countries.

The activities and workshops were coordinated by trainers with a great experience in the volunteering field. The most challenging task was the city game in Cieszyn,  were we had to gather data of voluntary aspects in Poland, with the help of passers, in order to work on our formal presentations. During this week, we developed new ideas for potential future projects that could stimulate more and more people to get involved in voluntary work. We also learned about the opportunities for youth through the EVS frame.
Besides the schooling activities it was in our personal gain to enrich our cultural knowledge with findings about the history of the Koss House, the hostel were we had accommodation. Also, visiting Cieszyn, was a great deal for us the city being half part of Poland and half part of Czech Republic .
All in all, the experience contributed to our personal development and raised awareness among participants regarding the need of volunteers in different work domains and the role they could play.
