We speak out loud – Pogradec, Albania 2012

 The Youth Exchange „ We speak out loud” which took place in Pogradec, Albania brought together youngers from all of the balkan aria and not only.(Albania, Italy, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Kosovo, Greece, Turkey, Romania). In a particularly attractive landscape, with mountains surrounding the beautiful lake Ohrid, we discussed issues about volunteerism in Europe, we found out about the EVS programme, we learned which are the steps we have to follow in writting an article or a press release, and we also created our own leaflet on promoting volunteerism.

After all these interesting and exciting activities, in the last days we conceived  a street action which took place in the center of the Pogradec city, in the square. The aim of the street action was to aware local people about the issue of ecology. We encouraged the people to start cleaning their own city and by this, to contribute to a clean environment and we gave them apples with encouraging messages. At the end of the action, we cleaned the beach and the square and some of the locals followed us.

The actions were organised in a very professional way by Ana Dervishi, the project manager, and the young volunteers participating in the Speak out loud project demonstrated that they know when to work, how to work, why to work and when to have fun together. The local people were very friendly and all in all, in the days we spent in Pogradec we learned a lot of things, also we made a lot of friends, and for all this we have to say again: THANK YOU ALBANIA!
