BACK to Participation

„Youth for Youth”, Macedonia 2008

 

 

The project „Youth for Youth”aimed to promote communication between young people from different ethnic and religious background and raise awareness about the existence of different cultures and different religion. At the same time it aimed to promote European citizenship and European values.  The youth exchange gathered 35 young people from SEE (Macedonia, FYR; Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina) and EU (Romania, France, the Netherlands and Italy) to work together on developing their communication skills – yo4ung people from different social, political and religious background learned to respect and recognize other different then themselves. 

The participants worked first on making small working teams and within their teams they took part in different creative workshops on different subjects. During this work through discussion and debate the participants discovered their similarities and learn to respect their differences. The exchange end with life performance in the center of the hosting town, and involve participation of the audience. One of the outcomes was a published video material of participants’ activity and the performance at the youth exchange. The video aimed to raise awareness and to motivate others to take active role in the society where they live.
