Youth exchange “We are citizens of Europe!”, Slovakia

“Our experience in the Erasmus+ project “We are citizens of Europe!” that took place in Snina, Slovakia, during 7-15 October 2017 was a very beautiful experience. It was a new type of project and a new experience for all of us, except the group leader, who had participated in a project like this in the past too, but all the activities helped us remember that a lot of the people from there were like us and that we don’t have to be afraid to met new young adults and try different things. Soon we started talking with different people, from different countries and with other nationalities than ours.

The activities from the first day were based on communication and helped us remember the names, find what other like and learn about their lives. We found people with the same opinion as ours, and people that were thinking in a different way, during the team working activities, learning how to respect all the opinions and how to integrate each one in our work. Also we found friends and a lot of friendship in all of the participants. It was an amazing way to discover, through the cultural evenings, how other nationalities live and to see the perspective of a young adult about his country. The cultural evenings represented for us an interactive way to learn new things about other countries and also, our cultural evening, showed to the other participants the beautiful places that they can visit in our country and also the amazing food that we have. In a few words, it was an experience that should be lived by many of us.“
