Youth exchange “Youth and Job Browser”, Albania

“Our experience in Durres was first of all, unique. The activities were not that time consuming and really on spot. We had a recap for the new participants so they would understand the Job Browser Method and how to apply it. This time, the participants from Sabac had the role of facilitators as well because we had to teach what we had already learnt. Groups were formed and we had to work with the new participants. Some of us were put in really uncomfortable situations, but that was the goal. And so, we had the chance to discover new things about ourselves, how to improve what we already have in terms of soft-skills, how to develop new skills and how to manage these conflict situations inside ourselves and outside us. Some of us discovered that they would really like to be a facilitator as a profession, and so we made the organisers very happy.

In our free time, we had been given tasks to complete and to post on the Facebook group of the project after we finish each one of the 8 challenges. Also, while visiting Tirana, there was a treasure hunt where we found more than what it was expected. We had to visit multiple common known places as a part of the cultural enrichment process and create proof of our presence there. Most of our activities where being stretched in the free time as well. We thought that this was a very good idea from the organizers because we were given the liberty, the space and the resources to create and fulfill our responsibilities in any way we felt comfortable. We worked, nonetheless, but it was a pleasure doing it. The participants who had the responsibility to be facilitators had a really long talk after the specific activity. We went in-depth with our discoveries and ideas to better improve the method.

The most pleasant part is that everyone took advantage of this opportunity and created something of value, something that can be improved and used in the future. There was a lot of feedback, a lot of products that resulted from these activities and we personally hope they will be of use for the next projects.”
