“8 steps to advance education”, youth exchange, Zakopane, Poland
The main topic of the project „8 Steps to Advanced Education” was the 8 key competences defined by the European Commission and development of soft skills among participants of the project. The modern school system is overwhelmed by the multidisciplinary knowledge that the pupils need to acquire. The pursuit of knowledge very often causes the passing over of many soft competences and practical abilities crucial for the efficiency of social interactions. This project aimed to provide participants with a unique opportunity to develop competences in an international learning environment. Those competences are: communication, sense of entrepreneurship, social and civic competences, digital skills, cultural awareness or ability to plan our own learning process.

During the implementation of the youth exchange we shaped up every day some other category of competences to promote sustainable growth of participants’ experiences. During the 8-days programme of the mobility participants were included in different workshops and activities relevant for the main subject-matter of the project. The facilitators team used interesting non-formal learning methods adequate to the project topic and the profile of participants. Apart from that, the participants took part in many activities, both theoretical and practical: presentations, brainstorming, simulations, workshops and discussions, orienteering game in Zakopane, language animations, ice braking games, trip to the mountains, national evenings and group presentations as a support to international education of the participants.
