The aim of the project was to share best practices in communication among youth NGOs in Europe and thus to empower participating organisations and their communities with more professional workers. Training course was composed around themes such as communication skills, assertiveness, manipulation, online communication tools and fighting against xenophobia and radicalisation in our society. Activities were implemented by non-formal education methods such as workshops, games, discussions, role plays, presentations and others.

“I’m feeling thankful and lucky that I had the opportunity to participate in this Erasmus program in Slovakia. I learned many things about authentic communication, empathy, stress communication, manipulation and non-verbal communication. People form 14 countries participated in this program. Although we came from different countries and cultures I learned that we all share the same needs – the need of interaction and connection, the need to be heard, the need of inclusion, partnership and self expression. The trainers were wonderful. I liked the fact that I did a lot of practical exercises to better understand the theoretical concepts. I have never participated in a program where both trainers and participants were so involved. I felt great throughout the program and lived to the fullest every moment. Usually, when I meet new people, I’m a little bit confused and insecure. But this time it was different because we all created this space between us where we could feel safe and not judged and I learned that I could relax and be myself despite my fears. After this experience, I have been left with many beautiful memories, with knowledge that I will put into practice and also with deep friendships.”
