Competencies of young leaders as a tool for community development, Snina, Slovakia 2019
The project included 6 different countries from Europe and it will be held for 8 days in Snina region, which is situated at the eastern part of Slovakia.
The aim of the project was to teach young leaders how to lead and motivate other young people, how to work in a team and how to be a good leader; how to adopt techniques of planning and time management. These topics were implemented by non-formal education methods such as workshops, games, discussions, role plays, presentations and others.
A strong feature was outdoor education – 1-day long hiking trip in Sninské rybníky surroundings – participants experienced working with their individual motivation, overcoming obstacles together with others, dependence on communication and cooperation within a team, or taking the responsibility.

Project “Competencies of young leaders as a tool for community development” supported the main idea of the Erasmus+ in improving the overall level of key attributions and skills of young people in a working experience and encourages their further development. It relies on active, mutual cooperation between the applicant and school as an institution, and on active service in a youth community, which has a stable foundation for continuing and development of activities of all the projects’ stakeholders.
The participants – young leaders in their community, schools, between classmates, have a great potential to continue in developing their acquired skills and knowledge even after the end of the project. Together with us, “the older and more experienced” leaders, project managers, they can achieve great things – those things which they believe in, and which they know that they they need as a young people.
