IDEA SHAPERS 2, Bulgaria 2023
The youth exchange “IDEA SHAPERS 2” aimed to provide participants with basic skills and experiences about visual thinking and graphic facilitation methods. Visual thinking was presented as a way to organize thoughts and improve the ability to think and communicate. It was addressed to beginners, and no prior knowledge in drawing or digital graphic facilitation was required. We aimed to develop ourselves as visual thinkers, starting from the basics. During this Youth exchange, we developed the graphic facilitation skills (both manual and digital) that could be used in the context of non-formal learning and youth work. It was an introductory course to graphical facilitation and visual thinking.
What we experienced:
– Introduction to visual thinking
– Learning about the basic shapes, elements, and steps of graphic facilitation
– Learned about the 8th basic step of graphic facilitation
– Basic use of Adobe Illustrator
– Working with graphical markers and tools, such as water-based graphical markers and outliners
It was addressed to beginners, and no prior knowledge in drawing or digital graphic facilitation was required. We aimed to develop ourselves as media and visual thinkers, starting from the basics.
