Youth work and social integration of immigrants, Turkiye 2023
The project addressed social and cultural cohesion problems and proposed solutions for asylum seekers and refugee youth in European society. Asylum seekers and refugees were identified as one side of the issues addressed to enhance social harmony. Our focus was on understanding, analyzing, and involving European communities and cultures where these young people were situated. On the other side, local communities in Europe experienced challenges with asylum seeker and refugee acceptance, leading to the rise of racism and prejudices.

We aimed to bring about quantitative and qualitative changes on both sides in the social, cultural, educational, and economic domains. Our objective was to enhance the skills, competencies, and awareness of both groups in line with the needs of harmony and coexistence. Long-term goals were planned to be achieved by involving young people and ensuring more effective outcomes through enhancing the capacity of civil society and local community actors. The main activities of the project included observations, seminars, and learning about the activities of different countries. The approaches of local communities in Europe to asylum seekers and refugees were analyzed through group work.
This project was done with the support of the Erasmus+ Programm.
