BACK to Participation

Proyecto de Democracia Participativa: PARLAMENTO JOVEN, Melilla Spain

This project, Youth Parliament took place in Mellila 22-26 June and is led by the Youth Association of University Students Melilla and also directly participates in the next 15 youth associations: PORTUGAL ROMANIA,SPAIN.

 

Young parliament is a project of juvenile participation stimulated by the Association AMEU together with other juvenile Spanish and European entities, which it chases to incorporate the perspective of the young persons in the local, regional, national and European policies, by means of the creation of an organ of participation in that they could put jointly the vision that they have of their environments sociopolitical, raising the problems that affect them and the offers of improvements that helps them  to solve.

This project, it has a clear pedagogic component, educate in democratic values and another politician, and create a space of participation of the young persons. In this context, they bet for facilitating the dialog between the young persons and the persons in charge of the public power in all his levels. And for it, first, they believe that it is fundamental to create new organizational infrastructures of democratic and participative character, since they consider them to be necessary to lay the foundations of the coordination and the dialog between the young persons.

The project was sustained by the European Commission through the program „Youth in Action”. Community program which ensured a legal frame for sustaining activities of informal learning for youngsters.
