BACK to Projects

From 13 to 20 June 2026, Together Romania successfully implemented the Erasmus+ training course CivicLab in Valea Doftanei, Romania. Organised within the framework of the Erasmus+ Youth Accreditation 2025, the mobility brought together around 30 youth workers from Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Türkiye and Romania to exchange experiences, develop new competencies and build long-term European partnerships.

Designed as a practical learning laboratory, CivicLab focused on strengthening the professional capacity of youth workers by combining non-formal education with hands-on activities. Throughout the eight-day programme, participants explored innovative digital tools and artificial intelligence for youth work, improved their graphic facilitation and visual communication skills, shared successful practices from their organisations and co-created new ideas for future Erasmus+ projects.

The programme also included practical learning experiences beyond the training venue. Participants organised a Community Engagement Lab together with students from a local high school in Câmpina and visited a local NGO to learn about community development initiatives. These activities allowed participants to test new educational methods while connecting with local communities and exchanging perspectives on civic participation and youth engagement.

An important outcome of the training course was the development of concrete follow-up actions. Working in international teams, participants designed local initiatives and future cooperation projects that will be implemented after returning home. By the end of the mobility, each participant had prepared a personal and organisational action plan, ensuring that the knowledge, skills and partnerships created during CivicLab will continue to generate impact in their local communities.

CivicLab demonstrated the value of international cooperation, peer learning and innovation in youth work. By bringing together experienced youth workers from across Europe, the project strengthened professional networks, encouraged the exchange of good practices and laid the foundations for new European initiatives that will empower young people and promote active citizenship.
