Open Minds, Open Worlds, Erasmus+ youth exchange
Open Minds, Open Worlds was an international youth exchange implemented by the Together Romania Association under the Erasmus+ Programme, representing the first mobility carried out within the organization’s 2025 accreditation (2025-1-RO01-KA151-YOU-000297151). The project brought together young people from Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, and Türkiye in a shared learning experience focused on inclusion, diversity, and intercultural dialogue.
Taking place between 8–15 November 2025, the project created a dynamic educational space where participants aged 16 to 25 engaged in non-formal learning activities designed to challenge stereotypes, raise awareness about discrimination, and encourage active civic participation. Through interactive workshops, role-playing activities, simulations, and team-building sessions, young people developed essential skills such as critical thinking, communication, cooperation, and empathy.

A key component of the project was the direct involvement with the local community. Participants collaborated with high school students in Valea Doftanei and Câmpina, where they took on the role of facilitators and delivered educational workshops on topics related to diversity, mutual respect, and social inclusion. This hands-on approach strengthened participants’ confidence and leadership abilities and extended the project’s impact beyond the international group.
As tangible outcomes, the project resulted in the development of an Manual against discrimination, designed as an educational resource for young people and youth workers, and in the recognition of participants’ learning outcomes through the Youthpass certificates. Beyond these results, the project fostered lasting partnerships between the involved organizations and reinforced participants’ sense of European belonging.
Through Open Minds, Open Worlds, the Together Romania Association reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young people and promoting core European values such as diversity, solidarity, equal opportunities, and active participation, contributing to the development of more inclusive and cohesive communities.
