“Poverty is not a game” – youth exchange 2012
.
Last year, during a youth exchange organized by our association, the idea of this project, a new youth exchange, starts to grow-up. At that time youngsters from 4 countries were involved: Romania, Turkey, Slovenia and Czech. After the project, Slovakia as a new partner sticks to the idea. All together we developed this project with the title “Poverty is not a game”. The youngsters found in common and also a necessary subject to be taken in to consideration the youth unemployment and its effects like poverty, social exclusion, etc; so this was the main subject of the project. The project involved 4 participants plus one leader from each country, so in total 20 young participants and 5 leaders. The venue of the project was a village called Valea Doftanei from Romania.
During 7 days of activities related to the subject, we involved actively the youngsters with non-formal education methods for all the process of the project: preparation, implementation and evaluation. We used methods as: interactive discussions, role play, brainstorming, learning by doing, open space, games, outdoor activities, workshops, etc.
